The 2011 Western States Surety Conference will be held on Thursday and Friday, May 12-13, 2011, in Seattle Washington (see formal invitation and RSVP info:  Formal Invitation & RSVP Info).  The pre-conference dinner will be a fun dinner/theater event held on Thursday evening, May 12, 2011, at Teatro ZinZanni (Teatro ZinZanni Seattle).  The program will be presented on Friday, May 13, 2011, at the Hyatt at Olive 8 (Hyatt at Olive 8), where a block of guest rooms have been reserved for out-of-town attendees.  A special website has been set up for hotel accommodations; please make your hotel reservation by visiting the following link:  RESERVATIONS at the Hyatt @ Olive 8.

The focus of this year's program will be on issues relevant to the surety and construction industries with emphasis on the Outside Impacts on the Surety.  Topics will include:  The Impact on the Surety of Contractor's General Liability Policies - Owner Controlled Insurance Policies ("OCIP"), Contractor Controlled Insurance Policies ("CCIP"), Defense coverage of Contractors under General Liability Policies; The Economic Loss Rule impact; Contract Litigation Insurance; California's mechanic's lien/stop notice/payment bond law; and Washington's Insurance Fair Conduct Act.

The program will feature a number of presentations and panels comprised of surety industry professionals and practitioners.  Every attendee will receive a copy of the 2011 Quick Reference Guide to Western States Surety Law, in addition to the written program materials.
